An oxazoline derivative of prednisolone with improved bone safety profile. (Markham A, 1996) Shows equivalent anti-inflammatory efficacy to prednisone but with 30% less bone mineral density loss. (Gennari C, 1984) Preferred for long-term steroid therapy due to better safety. (Myers LK, 2002)

• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Asthma exacerbations
• Autoimmune disorders
• Duchenne muscular dystrophy
• Nephrotic syndrome

• Weight gain
• Glucose intolerance
• HPA axis suppression
• Increased infection risk
