Amnac T8

A high-potency muscle relaxant formulation for severe spasmodic conditions, providing enhanced GABA-ergic activity at spinal cord and supraspinal levels. (Turker S, 2008) The 8mg dose shows superior efficacy in refractory muscle spasms but requires monitoring for CNS effects. (Parlak I, 2007) Often used as short-term (3-5 day) therapy. (Cherkin DC, 2003)

Indication

• Severe muscle spasms
• Post-neurosurgical spasticity
• Tetanus (adjunct)
• Dystonic reactions
• Post-ECT muscle pain

Side Effects

• Pronounced sedation
• Ataxia (high doses)
• Urinary retention
• Paradoxical spasms (rare)
